Would your users fall for fake antivirus scam?

Warn your users about this common attack that recently surfaced on a popular social networking site.

Many folks have been duped into following a link sent to them on Twitter purportedly directing them to an antivirus product called Security Shield.

The link is disguised using Google’s URL shortening service and leads to a Ukrainian domain associated with other fake AV scams, ComputerWorld reports.

The site asks users to run a security scan of their machines, which results in the installation of malware.

Warn users in your company to watch out for this and other attacks that spread using shortened URLs on social networking sites — many people likely visit those sites regularly using their work computers.
