Update: Equifax breach exposed even more info than believed

Months after Equifax announced one of the biggest data breaches in history, the company has revealed more information was exposed than it originally thought.

Personal information including tax identification numbers, email addresses and drivers’ license issue dates was also accessed in the attack.

Previously, Equifax said the names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and addresses of 145.5 million people were leaked, but there’s no word on how many are affected by this new information.

The company has recently started allowing people to lock their credit reports to limit access to them.
