Microsoft releases 2 more Spectre v2 updates

The Spectre vulnerability hasn’t gone away, and Microsoft is still dealing with its impact. The company released two new updates to fix the Spectre v2 vulnerability.

One update, KB4078407, is for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 systems and is software-based. Additional hardware-level CPU microcode updates are still necessary.

The other, KB4091666, is only for Intel users and includes firmware updates.

Spectre v2 was discovered earlier this year, along with Meltdown and Spectre v1.
