Measly internal storage has been the biggest complaint about Google”s Nexus 7 tablet. Now it”s rumored a more robust 32GB, 3G model will be released in the coming weeks. If you”ve been thinking of rolling them out to users, you may want to wait and see if the rumors are true.
Yesterday, a website for Android enthusiasts published a screen shot of an online vendor”s inventory system that showed an entry for a 32GB Nexus 7.
In fact, it”s available to order from CompSource.com for $277 although it”s listed as out of stock. And, it shows up on (the website says it”s sold out).
The Android website that broke the story reported the tablets will arrive at the online vendor on or around October 24th. That means, if the rumors are true, consumers will be able to get their hands on the device late October, early November.
Meanwhile, respected mobile industry blogger Paul O”Brien from MoDaCo insists a 3G version is in the works. At the beginning of September, O”Brien revealed an Asus insider told him a 3G model would arrive on the scene possibly in as little as six weeks. That time frame matches the rumored release of the 32GB model.
The Nexus 7 has gotten such stellar reviews that a 32GB, 3G model will only enhance its appeal for business users. For details, see our comparison of the Nexus 7 and Amazon”s Kindle Fire HD.
