Coming soon: First Windows 7 service pack

Businesses waiting for the first service pack to be released before taking a serious look at Windows 7 won’t have to wait much longer.

Microsoft has announced that Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) will be released as a public beta next month, NetworkWorld reports.

The SP1 release is important, because many businesses wait for that milestone before taking a new OS seriously.

But while the release could affect how many businesses deploy Windows 7, it may not have that big an impact on the OS itself. As we reported earlier, the service pack was leaked online in April, and it was a small package containing only minor updates.

Will the release of the first service pack affect your decision to upgrade or not? Let us know in the comments section below.
